dazzling winding road of Jebel Hafeet
Al Ain (Arabic: العين‎, al-ʿayn), literally The Spring, also known as the Garden City due to its greenery, is the second largest city in the Abu Dhabi Emirate and the fourth largest city in the United Arab Emirates. It is located approximately 160km east of the capital Abu Dhabi and approximately 120km south of Dubai. Located in Abu Dhabi, directly adjacent to the border with the eastern border of Oman. The freeways connecting Al Ain, Abu Dhabi and Dubai form a geographic triangle in the center of the country, each city roughly 130 kilometers from the other two. ~~excerpts from Wikipedia

I guess if there's one thing that I find boring, it must be the self introduction. Given the fact that there's nothing special to mention about me. I am just an ordinary woman, but for the sake of introducing myself, then allow me to share a bit part of me. I am a proud Filipina, born and raised in Daet, Camarines Norte, a province in the southern part of the Philippines. I've been enjoying the peace and tranquility of living in the UAE for 9 years and still enjoying the beauty of Al Ain. The Green Mubazzarah is one my favorite places here in the 'roundabout capital' of UAE. I love to go there to see the sunset or visit early in the morning to catch the sunrise. I love watching the majestic beauty of the sun spreading its magical rays across the horizon. Seeing the sun setting below the horizon never cease to amaze me as well. I must admit that I am a sky watcher and sky lover.

I discovered my interest in photography when I was blog hopping and noted that most of the blogs had photos and thought I would try it. My mobile camera was my very first clicking gear but I wasn't satisfied with the result. I've tried the compact digital camera too but I wasn't contented with the resolution. In February 2010, I bought my first DSLR camera. Sure I have upgraded my gear but I believe that my skills didn't improve a notch. I firmly believe that I have a lot of things to learn....I am simply a work in progress. At present, I don't even consider myself a photographer, in fact I call myself a photo enthusiast and photoblogger. Photoblogging  enables me to see the different sides and perspective of people, places, things and culture that few people have the chance to enjoy. I find capturing those precious moments really awesome. I might be struggling with my crazy schedule as a PICU nurse in one of the local hospitals, as a mother of 2 kids, and wife to Misael; but I see to it that I attend photography workshops to further my skills whenever I am available (*yawns*---oh! Am I starting to bore you with this lengthy speech post? Hang in there, just few sentences to go and I'm done).

Allow me to share my imperfect shots as you learn an Arabic word at the end of some posts. Please be informed that those Arabic words are my own understanding as I get to learn the language in a constant conversation with the Arabs. As a Filipino expat here in the UAE, I believe that learning the language will be the easiest way to understand the people around me (*yawns and moans*---my bed is inviting me to plunge in).

On a lighter side, I may be thirty something (coughs*) but I am still hip though a bit prudent most of the time :). I am a Twilight Saga super fan and I love watching Vampire Diaries.

I consider this photoblog as a memoir of my photographic journey. I will post anything and everything about Al Ain, the UAE in general and occasional photos taken from my holidays.....no specific genre but I find posting landscape photos somewhat fulfilling rather than posting portraits. Sure you'll find some portraits, but those are shot on whim most of the time. Please don't expect to see awe inspiring shots since I seldom alter or post process my photos. You may also find that some of the entries may look irrelevant for the theme, but just the same, allow me to share it with you.

This blog is also created not only to share my photos but to support my advocacy. Any monetary compensation generated from paid advertisements or link insertions, mentioned or not, goes to the charity organizations that I truly uphold and support. Any donation generated from the paypal donate button on the side bar also goes to the charities. Please be informed that posts with companies or products mentioned are not always paid or sponsored. Some are posted out of goodwill and the author does not have any commercial gain out of it.

Please also note that some of the photos were taken by Misael, JM and Joel. I do post some photos shared by the followers of this blogiste too. Fancy yourself a bit of a shutterbug? Well, you can share it with me and I'll be happy to share it with the readers. Full credit will be given to yours. What are waiting for? Get that body moving and start clicking! :)) Yalah!!

Would you like me to take a photo of your favorite place here in Al Ain? Do you know any place that I would be delighted to visit? If your answer is affirmative, then I would appreciate you dropping a line at my.misalyn1996@gmail.com or simply post your message(s) below.

Thank you and hope you'll enjoy browsing the pages of Al Ain City Photo.
