Thank you!

Let's celebrate! Take your cyber seat and try this cake.

I came to the UAE in May 2005 and started blogging in December 2006. I was alone because my family hadn't joined me yet here in Al Ain. If my memory serves me right, homesickness was the main reason why I started a personal blog to record my thoughts on living and working here in the sandpit. It was one fine day when I was browsing the net that I stumbled upon a photoblog. It tickled my interest in photography and finally in November 2009, I started this photoblog to share my photos....and the rest is history.

To date, it has been 6 years that I am trying my very best to survive here in the sandpit. Having said that, I want to thank all the people who made my life a lot better. And most of all, I thank GOD for the all the blessings bestowed upon me and that includes my family, my colleagues, my friends, my host country and YOU...yes! it's you....for being a part of my virtual journey.

This post is linked to Ruby Tuesday.
Word of the day: inti (feminine)/inta(masculine) is the Arabic word for you. Salaam!

  5. When I moved to this country a looong time ago, laptops and blogging was not in yet. To overcome homesickness, I was crocheting and I had given away (as presents) afghans and baby blankets.

Blogging and photography go hand in hand. More power to you and your family adjusting life in a new world.

  8. Love-ly cake. It takes a lot of courage to start a new life thousands of km from home, friends and family. I know, we both did it a few times, individually and together. But then... sometimes it becomes home. And you make yourself new friends.
