"Beheaded" statue

I have noticed that it has been a tradition here in Al Ain that they decorate the roundabouts, selected date palm trees and bridges a week or two weeks before the UAE National Day. As you can see on the photo shown above,  Sheikh Zayed Roundabout is well adorned with lights in pan Arab color.

A week ago, I've noticed that the statue of Sheikh Zayed was "beheaded' and until now, I am still wondering on what was the reason of Al Ain Municipality for "beheading" the said statue. Any wild guess?

By the way, the 39th celebration of UAE National Day will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of December 2010.

If you'd like to see my photo of the Sheikh Zayed Roundabout before it was "beheaded", you can click here and here.

Word of the day: lown is the Arabic word for color. Salaam!
